In Athens, Shape Haus reimagines the boutique fitness studio as a curated spatial experience. Designed by Studio Opaque², for personalized training and specialized classes, the interior undergoes a complete transformation, balancing bold theatricality with precise architectural intent.
The journey begins in a dramatic, black-painted entry room, where a compact seating area sets an intimate tone. A luminous neon sign anchors the opposing wall, positioned above the lifting zone and subtly introducing the studio’s identity. Above this, a slender metallic loft stretches across the space, making full use of the impressive ceiling height and adding vertical intrigue.
“A floor-to-ceiling red PVC curtain acts as a membrane between reception and workout zones, a deliberate gesture that filters light, color, and movement”.
More than a divider, it creates a sense of anticipation, a staged moment that prepares visitors for the transition into the main arena of activity. Inside the training space, the considerable height becomes a central design element.
A suspended metal ceiling lowers the scale and contains the integrated lighting system, shaping a controlled and focused environment. The walls unfold in three tonal layers, black, beige, and red, visually grounding the room while injecting rhythm and energy into the workout atmosphere.
A large mirror expands the perception of space, while a discreet black-lacquered kitchenette and storage unit nestles into the corner, offering functionality without compromising the purity of the architectural lines. Shape Haus ultimately blurs the boundaries between fitness studio and spatial installation, offering an immersive environment shaped by light, color, and purposeful design.
