«Κρυμμένη» μέσα σε ένα άγριο πευκοδάσος και σε προνομιακό σημείο προς τον Σαρωνικό κόλπο, βρίσκεται μια εντυπωσιακή εξοχική κατοικία, που μοιάζει να εντάσσεται διακριτικά στο τοπίο, αντί να προσπαθεί να ξεχωρίσει από αυτό. Η κατοικία, η οποία σχεδιάστηκε από το γραφείο Plaini and Karahalios Architects, τοποθετείται ανάμεσα στα δέντρα με την ελάχιστη δυνατή επέμβαση στο τοπίο, προάγοντας την υπαίθρια διαβίωση και την αλληλεπίδραση με τη φύση.

Το μονώροφο κτίριο έχει τη μορφή ενός επιμήκους ορθογώνιου πρίσματος, το οποίο τοποθετείται κάθετα στην κλίση του εδάφους. Το πίσω μέρος του οικοπέδου είναι μερικώς βυθισμένο στο έδαφος, ενώ μπροστά σχεδόν ίπταται από αυτό.

“Η κάτοψη οργανώνεται ως μια γραμμική διάταξη χώρων. Ο χώρος καθιστικού, στη βόρεια πλευρά, στηρίζεται σε μία μόνο κολόνα και αγναντεύει τον κόλπο μέσα από μια ανοιχτή γωνία. Ένα κεντρικό αίθριο διαχωρίζει το καθιστικό από το υπόλοιπο σπίτι και ευθυγραμμίζεται υψομετρικά με το φυσικό έδαφος”.

Η κουζίνα βρίσκεται στην απέναντι πλευρά του υπαίθριου χώρου, λειτουργικά ενοποιημένη με το καθιστικό. Ένας μακρύς διάδρομος διατρέχει όλο το μήκος του κτιρίου, παρέχοντας πρόσβαση από την κύρια είσοδο στα τρία υπνοδωμάτια και στους βοηθητικούς χώρους. Καταλήγει στο κυρίως υπνοδωμάτιο και στην παρακείμενη βυθισμένη αυλή, στο νότιο άκρο της κατοικίας.

Το κεντρικό αίθριο αποτελεί τον πυρήνα του σπιτιού σε άμεση συνέχεια με την κύρια είσοδο. Είναι το κρίσιμο σημείο τομής της γραμμικής κάτοψης, όπου ο εξωτερικός χώρος διεισδύει στο εσωτερικό. Μέσα σε αυτή τη συνθήκη, το τοπίο εισρέει στο εσωτερικό και όλα τα όρια διαλύονται.

English description: “Hidden” in a dense pine tree forest, in a privileged spot overlooking the Saronic Gulf, lies an impressive vacation house, which seems to blend discreetly into the landscape, rather than trying to stand out from it.

The house, designed by Plaini and Karahalios Architects, is placed among the trees with the minimum possible landscape intervention, promoting outdoor living and the interaction with nature. The single-story building is a long rectangular prism resting vertically on the landscape inclination partially submerged to the ground at the back of the plot and emerging off the ground at the front.

“The plan is composed as a linear array of rooms. The living area on the north edge sits on a single pillar overlooking the bay through an open corner. A central atrium separates the living area from the rest of the house and is aligned level to the adjusting contour line”.

The kitchen is situated at the opposite side of the open-air space, functionally unified with the living area. A long corridor transcends the length of the building providing access from the main entrance to the three single bedrooms and service areas and terminating to the master bedroom and adjacent sunken courtyard at the south edge of the house.

The central atrium is the core of the house in continuity to the main entrance; an inscribed intersection to the linear plan where the external space penetrates the interior. It is at this point of intersection, where the landscape floods into the interior and all the boundaries dissolve.
