The large plot is organized into three zones: the lower level near the road forming the approach to the house with a ring drive-way and a steep landscaping slop; the middle level creating the main plateau for the residence and adjacent outdoor spaces (main pool terrace, gardens, play-ground, barbeque, storages, garage); and the upper level simulating the hill-top feeling with a lounge area at the top and an organically formed pathway through the cultivated hill-side.Exterior view of Villa White in Porto Heli, Greece, designed by Harald Nürnberg – Photo © Pygmalion Karatzas

The main design concept was to create an open plan, breaking the large programmatic requirements of the residence in order for all of them to enjoy the visual and functional connection to the site and beyond, while at the same time the volumetric compositions, minimalist design and all-white finishings tie it together. The austere geometry is gently balanced against the Argolis countryside; the all-white color scheme is contrasted with the colorful regional palette ; and the formalistic simplicity confronts the programmatic functionality in a distinct yet harmonious juxtaposition.Villa White / Site plan, © HARALD NÜRNBERG
