Το αρχιτεκτονικό γραφείο konstantinos stathopoulos | KRAK. architects, συμμετείχε στην 10^η Μπιενάλε Νέων Αρχιτεκτόνων, με μια εντυπωσιακή εξοχική κατοικία, εν ονόματι, Casa Odyssia, η οποία βρίσκεται στο βορειοανατολικό τμήμα του νησιού της Κέρκυρας, σε ένα κατάφυτο τοπίο, με έντονο ανάγλυφο και σε υψόμετρο 250 μέτρων, όπου καλείται να φιλοξενήσει τον χρήστη ως σύγχρονο Οδυσσέα.

Αναζητώντας την Ιθάκη· ο μυθικός Οδυσσέας, ξεβράστηκε γυμνός στο νησί των Φαιάκων, την σημερινή Κέρκυρα. Εκεί, τον περιμάζεψε η Ναυσικά, η κόρη του βασιλιά και τον οδήγησε στο ανάκτορο του πατέρα της, όπου δέχθηκε την φιλοξενία του παλατιού και τα εφόδια για να επιστρέψει στην Ιθάκη του.

Η κατοικία, σαν σπόρος στο έδαφος· φυτρώνει, βρίσκοντας χώρο, ανάμεσα στις άλλες δυνάμεις του τόπου, τα δέντρα, τα βράχια· αναζητώντας την καλύτερη θέα, τον ήλιο, τον καλό προσανατολισμό.

Η όλη σύνθεση δομείται γύρω από ένα κεντρικό πυλώνα, ο οποίος έχει αναφορά στις σποραδικές εξάρσεις του τοπίου από κυπαρίσσια, και στρέφεται νοτιοανατολικά στοχεύοντας τον καλό προσανατολισμό και την θέα προς τον ορίζοντα.

Ακολουθώντας τους άξονες x, y, z, τα στοιχεία της σύνθεσης, από εμφανές σκυρόδεμα, στην λογική της ατέρμονης κίνησης, συναντιούνται στο οικόπεδο ανάμεσα στα ελαιόδεντρα και τις πέτρες, δημιουργώντας χώρους, όρια και θέες.

“Η κατοικία είναι συνολικά 142 τ.μ. με δυνατότητα επέκτασης στον χώρο κάτω από το καθημερινό”.

Στην πάνω πλευρά του οικοπέδου, ο όγκος των δωματίων, διαρρηγνύεται από τον βασικό άξονα κίνησης, σχηματίζοντας την είσοδο. Μια διαμήκης σχισμή στην πλάκα, νοηματοδοτεί την κίνηση προς την θέα ακολουθώντας το νοητό μονοπάτι του φωτός.

“Προχωρώντας ανάμεσα από τα δωμάτια, ανοίγεται η θέα των 180^ο , όπου βρίσκεται το καθημερινό”.

Στεγασμένο από μία πλάκα, διαμπερές και με μεγάλα ανοίγματα, γίνεται ένα με το τοπίο και λειτουργεί σαν ημιυπαίθριος χώρος κατά τους θερινούς μήνες. Μια κυκλική τομή λούζει το καθημερινό με άπλετο φως, όπου ανάλογα με την θέση του ήλιου, δημιουργείται ένα ξεχωριστό παιχνίδι από φως και σκιές.

“Η κλίμακα, οι απλές γεωμετρίες, η υλικότητα, προσδίδουν ένα οπτικό βάρος στο κτίριο και συντελούν σε ένα χαρακτήρα Δωρικό”.

Η Casa Odyssia, όπως τα βράχια που ξεπροβάλουν από το άγριο τοπίο, σαν «αγκυροβόλι», είναι ένας σταθμός ξεκούρασης, περισυλλογής, φιλοξενίας, μια «σχεδία» διάσωσης από την αστική ζωή. Φιλοδοξεί να ξεκουράσει, και να εμπνεύσει το χρήστη στην αναζήτηση της δικής του Ιθάκης… μόνο τότε, τα ντουβάρια, μετατρέπονται σε σπιτικό με χωρικές ποιότητες, με λογισμό και με όνειρο.

English description: konstantinos stathopoulos | KRAK. Architects designed a leisure summer residence in Corfu Island, entitled Casa Odyssia, which selected to participate in the 10^th Biennale of young Greek architects.

In search of Ithaca; the mythical Odysseus, washed naked on the island of Phaeacians, today’s Corfu. There, Nafsika, the king’s daughter, surrounded him and led him to her father’s palace, where he received the hospitality and supplies to return to his Ithaca.

“Casa Odyssia is a leisure residence that aims to host its user, as a modern Odysseus”.

It is located in the northeastern part of the island in a verdant landscape with intense relief and at an altitude of 250 meters. The dwelling as a seed on the ground; it grows by finding space among the other forces of the site, the trees, the rocks; looking for the best view, the sun, the good orientation.

The entire synthesis is structured around a central pillar, which refers to the sporadic outbursts of cypress trees, and turns towards south-east, aiming for the good orientation and the view to the horizon.

Following the axes x, y, z, the elements of the synthesis, made of raw concrete, meet on the site, between the olive trees and the stones, creating spaces, boundaries and views, in a logic of endless movement.

“The house is a total of 142 sqm with the possibility of expansion in the space below the living area”.

On the upper side of the plot, the volume of the rooms, ruptured by the main axis of movement, forming the entrance. Walking between the rooms opens the view of the 180ο where the daily living takes part.

Covered by a slab, bright and with large openings, it becomes one with the landscape and functions as a semi-outdoor space during the summer months. A circular section bathes the living area with plenty of light, where depending on the position of the sun, a separate play of light and shadow is created.

“Scale, simple geometries and materiality, provides a visual weight to the building and contribute to a Doric character”.

Casa Odyssia, like the rocks that emerge from the wild landscape, like an «anchorage», is a station of rest, meditation, hospitality, a rescue «raft» from the urban life. It aspires to rest, and to inspire the user in the search for his “own” Ithaca … only then, the concrete blocks, are transformed into a home with spatial qualities, with reason and with a dream.
