Architect Georgina Andrei adds a sleek yet cozy wine tasting space inside a pre-existing winery in a village of Chania

Architect Georgina Andrei has created a clean-cut but warm Wine tasting space, inside a storage area of an existing winery in Crete. The winery already had an industrial yet traditional feeling to it, since it is located in a small village of Chania, Crete.

Architect chose to keep some industrial elements, yet design a minimal space with some natural materials (wood and stone) that make justice to the product and the character of the area. A bathroom and a bar were added in clear autonomous forms.

“The height of the space was utilized with a three-dimensional wooden grid hanged from the ceiling to create a cozy feeling under the tasting table”.

Using a light steel and glass surface to divide the tasting space from the bottling area but still have the visual connection with it. The tasting space provides the facility with an airy continuity throw-out the building that functions both as a respectful display of the local product and an intimate corner to enjoy it.
